This project was born from a profound experience during my visit to the Pozo Julia museum (Fabero, Spain), where I was deeply moved by the harshness of mining life and the inhumane conditions endured by the workers. That visit awakened in me an intimate connection with my grandfather Ziza, a geologist who worked in the mine, and with my uncle Valera, who lost his life in a mining accident at the age of 20. From that personal root, my work establishes a dialogue between beauty and suffering, strength and fragility, inviting reflection on the relationship between human beings and nature. In my creative process - encompassing drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture - I experimented with burned wood, working its surface with gouges and sandpaper to reflect the extraction of coal as a metaphor for struggle and resistance.
