A series of portraits exploring introspection and isolation. Enveloped in chiaroscuro, each figure inhabits a space where sound fades and only inner reflections remain. The wood and traces of fire allude to the passing of time, transforming silence into a dense and eloquent presence. The portraits depict primarily my own family - my mother, my father and my twin brother - with whom I share a deep emotional bond that allows me to reflect their vulnerability and strength. In the portrait of my mother, inspired by Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, I divert her gaze to highlight her resilience and the beauty of time's passage against contemporary standards. My brother's portrait, in contrast, addresses the disorientation and existential crisis of a young generation marked by precarity and uncertainty, inviting reflection on human fragility in the present moment.
